Video: See how King County wildlife use a restored natural area

If you’ve seen the viral 2024 video about King County’s beavers, you might remember some of the amazing trail camera recordings of King County wildlife from one of our senior ecologists, Jen V. These cameras help us understand environmental changes and animal behaviors, but they also inspire curiosity: Where is this animal going? What is it looking for? And what else is out there?

The video below documents a three-legged coyote (Canis latrans), a growing family, and a series of surprise guests traveling through a major King County restoration area in Fall City. They trot, bound, prowl, and frolic up and down a riverside trail. These animals all play a role in the ecosystem, and they depend on clean water and healthy habitats to thrive- just like us.
